    Update the script accordingly before you run it:
    Code:
    * alsa-driver-1.0.22
    * alsa-lib-1.0.22
    * alsa-utils-1.0.22
    * alsa-tools-1.0.22
    * alsa-firmware-1.0.20
    * alsa-plugins-1.0.22
    * alsa-oss-1.0.17
    With these changes at the head of the script, it fails. The log file says:
    Code:

    I'd love to get working ALSA in my Fujitsu ST5112 tablet. I've got everything else working.

    Thanks,

    Re: ALSA Upgrade Script

    .... The 1.0.21 install via this script went flawlessly previously. Used it again to install 1.0.22 and it compiled fine, nothing peculiar to report from the logs...

    It isn't working with my Realtek ALC883.
    edit: But now my Audigy works again, so I'm ok.

    Re: ALSA Upgrade Script

    ive succesfully upgraded to ALSA 1.0.22 but seems that I still don't get playback. I have an Auzentech X-Fi Forte and although the OS seems to detect everything and I even used the command to check the version which confirms that its 1.0.22. alsamixer also shows that all devices are unmuted with about 60% volume. and just to be sure, im not using any of the front connectors, everything is plugged directly into the soundcard.

    ive been at this for about 2 days and hit a wall, ive googled everything and im not getting any leads.

    Hardy doesn;t have this package. You may want to remove that from the script or just change it to libavutil-dev

    try this...

    Update:
    the upgrade aint working for me.... there is a problem in the configure for the alsa-drivers, which is not compiling the drivers for my intel card...
    I am not sure but looks like a alsa problem, perhaps... the attached script should work in principle...

    Re: ALSA Upgrade Script

    Hi – merry Christmas

    running xbmc rc1

    No sound

    I have updated alsa to .21

    I have twiddled knobs and sliders with in alsamixer and still no sound whilst running speaker-test -c 2 in a different putty session.

    This did work previously so the sound card and cabling are good to go.

    Here is an output of my sound configuration >> http://pastebin.com/f599cd5a9

    And here is a copy of my XBMC dump output >> http://pastebin.com/f5f06f1c4

    thanks

    Re: ALSA Upgrade Script

    Some extra background. I can hear sound through my sennheiser 161 PC headphones but what I want to do is link my audigy2 zs soundcard up to my TV via phonons speakers. This has worked previously.
    Video playback, navigation sounds in the gui and wav files tests fail via the phono cables but work through the headphones. Hope this helps
    This must be a setting somewhere?
    I’m assuming the phone leads from the sound card to the TV is a anloag connection attempt? And the headphones is a digital feed?
