    Fickle USB key/pendrive

    Hello!

    I'm a new lunix/Ubuntu user, and it's awesome!

Just one odd problem that I couldn't find a solution for anywhere: When Ubuntu is booted up, and I put my USB key in, everything is fine. But if I leave the USB key in and THEN boot up, it refuses to mount. Doesnt matter how many times I un-plug it and plug it in, it doesnt mount. I have to take it out, reboot it, and once everything is booted up, then I can stick it in and use it again.

This is a very weird problem! Anyone have any ideas to help this noob?

    Much appreciated!

Do a fsck on the USB partition(s) (search for detailed instructions).
