    What's the problem with OSS?

Hey, I've been having some sound issues recently. ALSA has decided to be really temperamental in Intrepid. I've tehn decided to start sing OSS. I'm just wondering what the problem is with it. I've had no issues at all. No crashes or anything. So why isn't it more widely used??

Yeah, that's the question many of us have been thinking about since the beginning of that ALSA mess.

The reason ALSA won over OSS is just politics on part of the OSS developers, and now we are stuck in some Goth architecture.

And there doesn't seem to be any hope that one of the userlevel solutions like Jack decisively wins. Meh.
