    At a hotel

    Can anyone tell me how do I detect other wireless using my ubuntu? It works at home using my wireless network but at the hotel, it wont work. I was told its available.

    If possible ask the SSID (the name) of the wireless network and provide that along with the key in the network manager.


    PS: Unfortunately there have been compatibility issues with wireless acccess points and certain wifi cards in the Network Manager. By the way, this type of problem can be observed in Vista as well, and probably has its origin in the incredibly different ways that a standard can be interpreted and implemented by every different equipment manufacturer. But normally it works fine.
