restore my desktop

I'v installed the compizconfig(advanced desktop effects) and made some changes. After that my desktop became blank and i cant see anythin on my desktop(its completely blank & black) and its not showing me my desktop icons and even my mouse is now working on my desktop.

Its something like the below picture.

Please help me in this regard.

Press ctrl+alt+f1, login and type <metacity --replace> without the brackets. It should disable compiz and hopefully give you back the desktop. Press ctrl+alt+f7 to get back to GUI.

with d commands dat u'v asked to use for restorin my desktop worked.



But after i restarted my system, i got my desktop restored, but none of my system files are getting opened.

Help me in this regard

What do you mean by 'system files'? What files do you want to open?
