    Framerate for Webcam extremely slow

    [Ubuntu 8.04]

I recently installed a brand new Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. I know on XP that it works fairly well, but If I try using it on Linux with Skype the frame rate is horrible (1-2 FPS) although the overall quality of each frame is much better.

The 9000 is a UVC Camera, mounts on /dev/video0 (like normal), and the device ID is (046d:0990).
There's no place like boot time, there's no place like boot time, there's no place like boot time.
