I have a bit of noobish question: I successfully changed partitions to create a new NTFS partition for installing Windows 7, but my system doesn't offer me to boot from Windows installation CD after restart - it heads straight to Ubuntu login screen. How can I enter Windows installation?

    Thanks in advance.

NVM, the problem was the Windows 7 installation DVD which couldn't be recognized. I first installed Windows XP and then replaced it with Windows 7.

Is it definite that this method won't work for current versions (as mentioned in the first post)? Would like to install Windows 7 64-bit beside Ubuntu 11.10. Currently have Windows 7 32-bit, so just want to replace it.

This method won't work for current versions of Ubuntu because the method described in the first post is for versions of Ubuntu using legacy GRUB.

You can still install Ubuntu first, then add Windows 7. As before you will need to reset GRUB 2 as the boot loader on MBR. You can do so by following these instructions

The above instructions are part of a larger guide to GRUB 2: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2
    Multi-boot: Arch linux, Ubuntu 12.04, Windows 7 & Windows 8
