    Nicely done. This also worked for my Fedora 10 install.

    However my camera when it's turned on is quite pink it seems.

    I tried Andre's instructions, but "make all" causes errors.

    It doesn't seem to be able to find the build/.config file for my kernel (2.6.28-8-generic).

    Hi I followed the instructions above and managed to get the video working for Skype (Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid)
    System: Dell Inspiron 6400 Lapton for the MS LifeCam vx1000 webcam.

    However the sound is not working.
    Any ideas ?

    Followed leachyboy2001 post #3 steps. On Ubuntu 8.10 on Dell Inspiron E1405. Can confirm Cheese and Skype video work. But no audio (microphone) yet.

    Me in a kernel 2.6.26-1-amd64, and after to post #3 steps, I can use it in aMSN and cheese, but in Skype I only can see a green square with a lot of lines, so when we try to tune a TV channel

    Have been following dead-end threads for the last few hours trying to get my drivers working until I found this. Works great now!
