    Talking gpu identiy crisis

    i recently installed a nvidia 9600 gt on my ubuntu 8.10 box, but in nvidia settings it is displayed as a 9600 gt some of the time and a 9600 gso 512 the rest of the time. it is a galxey model that i bought off ebay here. any idea what is going on. i think it is a firmware/bios issue.
