i have a fujitsu siemens laptop now running ubuntu 8.10 and i have noticed that when i use headphones via headphone socket sound comes from headphones correctly but doesnt switch the sound off from the inbuilt speakers, is there a setting i need to adjust as i cant find one, look under sounds etc but cant see any mention of it.
