Pidgin buddy list

I like pidgin because it has all of the clients in one, but I don't like the way the buddy list is set up, I think the icons are way to big. is there a plug-in that makes the buddy list more compact?

I figure as its so long since you posted, that you either dont care anymore, or have found another way, and you probs wont see this reply. But i have found a way to make the buddy list much more compact, without any plugins.

Simply go to:

Buddies > Show

And untick "Buddy Details". The change should be instant and VERY obvious

Another possibility:

I was looking for a plugin to show the buddy list as compact as when using "Hide buddy details", but with the buddy status on the right of the buddy names. I couldn't find a plugin that did exactly what I wanted, so I created one.

I tried installing it, but I failed!
your explanation is:
*Download the source code tarball
*Extract the tarball
*open a console window
*type "make"
*you should then get a file pidgin-guiops.so
*copy pidgin-guiops.so to your ~/.purple/plugins directory

But I think it's very confusing, since I am not so good with stuff like that. =S
So, after extracting it in my download folder I went to terminal and cd until I was in the folder, then just wrote "make" like you told me but it failed... Can you, if it's not too much to ask, write a more detailed guide on how to install it? ^^
