Thanks for the compliment! The effect I achieved was accomplished by editing my wallpaper so that both my tint and cairo-dock had the same "background". I set my desktop margins so that my windows would not overlap them. I'm sure my tintrc would not look the same as they would without the edited wallpaper. But here it is anywho..

    Code:

Here's my Conky but the transparency is just a Gimp trick. I drew a rectangle on the area where Conky lives an made it 25% transparent. :-p

    My new look...

BTW does anyone know how to get the area around the windows transparent (ex. notice the terminal)? Haven't found a way to do that yet. Any suggestions on how to improve my desktop welcome.

You mean the window borders (or controls?), like this:

I just began experimenting with transset. A neat little treat.

P.S. To be more explicit: sudo apt-get install transset. In the terminal, type transset. You'll see what happens, it's really easy to play around with it. I don't know yet so much about it, just gave it a try.

I never use smilies, but there are exceptions that prove the rule [Hey, how do I disable showing colon & parenthesis as an emoticon in my signature?]
