Question [SOLVED] VLC + .wmv = No Audio

When playing wmv formats with VLC Player, I only get video, no audio.

Is there a fix to this or will I be stuck with having to do vbox or wine?

Can you play this file in another player - e.g. Xine or Mplayer?
Can you play other wmv files in VLC?
Are you sure the file is not DRM protected?

Additional: Are you trying to view an online video rather than one you have downloaded? Have you got mozilla-plugin-vlc installed?

Must be just that file -- it's not DRM protected, just must have been a bad download. A recently downloaded wmv file works perfect with sound.

    Thanks for your help.
