    gui vnc

    hello,

    is there a gui version of a vnc program which can act as a server?

    There's some installed with your system. In System>Preferences>Remote Desktop, you can set up a server. In Applications>Internet>Remote Desktop Viewer, you can view other machines' vnc setups.

    well one computer is windows and another linux.

    If you're looking for vnc software for windows, RealVNC has a free version. (Limited features)

    EDIT: Also, there is TightVNC (which is free), but I'm not positive if it can be used for a VNC server.
