    Freecaps/sockscap and proxychains/tsocks compared

    Hello All,

Total newbie to the linux/ubuntu community and thought i'd start off with a question (as most do).

I'm been doing some digging around about proxies and tools available to us on Linux and found 2 that stood out. Proxychains and tsocks.

Both of these packages seem to be able to accomplish what i'm trying to do but i can't figure it out.

Basically i need to run a program through either of these and have all the traffic re-directed to localhost/127.0.0.1 so i can then use a routing software to send re-route the traffic through a proxy. Kinda confusing to explain and i'm sure even more to understand.

Ultimate goal: Emulate the Windows setup of Freecaps and Your Freedom working together to get wow.exe to pass it's traffic through Your Freedom.

    Thanks.

NOTE: I've tried posting this in the networking section but i don't seem to have permission yet.

I was able to get Freecap installed with WINE. Everything worked perfectly.

Fine that u installed freecaps with wine.. but that would not enable you to proxify the linux apps
Had u installed such a thing on ubuntu then u would haven been able to run all apps
