Howto: setup Conky in Hardy and Ibex

I use ubuntu 10.10 amd 64 in laptop asus a42f,and install conky.But it doesn't display temperatur and battery.Anyone help me?

Install hddtemp and lm-sensors

Your also missing the Open Logos and StyleBats fonts,
which is why you see the large letters down the left side.

To remove the shadow from the conky window you can also play with your Window Decoration preferences. Change which windows should have, or should not have, shadows.



And add the line below to your .conkyrc file.

own_window_title mi_conky

I realize this is a very old post but can someone shed a little light on how to get rid of the shadow decoration on the conky window?

Right clicking or left clicking on the Desktop makede it disappear until I changed:

own_window_type desktop

to

own_window_type override

I have just installed conky but i am not able to locate any script or programme to edit / configure it. Plz advise.
