    [SOLVED] Segmentation faulty tree... 50%

I get this 'Segmentation faulty tree... 50%' error when I try to upgrade/safe-upgrade in apt-get/aptitude, or when I try to open Synaptic or update-manager.

    Can you post your /etc/apt/sources.list?

    Code:
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
In the world of Linux, who needs Windows and Gates...

I have this error now too, would be nice to know what is causing it.
    Code:

Re: [SOLVED] Segmentation faulty tree... 50%

I'm sorry, should have searched a bit better.
    The solution seems to be
    Code:
    sudo rm /var/cache/apt/*.bin
    as they figured out here:
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=19563
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=527878highlight=Segmentation+faul ty+tree...+50%25
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/.../msg00861.html

    Problem solved.
