Cannot Increase Desktop Pager

Hi
I am using kubuntu 8.04
I have enabled desktop effects and all effects works perfectly.
I want to increase desktop pager for work and animation but I cannot

I can see only two pagers boxes in panel applet but with same name Desktop 1. I increased Pagers and applied but still I only get two pagers.

I want to increase pagers with four pagers.

Help me on this.

install the compizconfig-settings-manager if it is not installed already:

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

after it installs, find it in system > preferences > compizconfig settings manager...on the left side, click: general > general options > desktop size

try the "horizontal virtual size" setting.

EDIT: oops...sorry. in kubuntu, find it in applications > settings > compizconfig settings manager

it works, the desktop cube effect now shows four displays.. but the panel applet still dispaly two desktops. I have increase desktops in panel, but still it displays only two desktops.

EDIT : The panel applet now works. I have removed panel applet and load again, and WOW it works.
