When I used ubuntu feisty or gusty, it was there by default.
I searched the internet but can't find it.

In 8.04 you get Floating Ubuntu or Floating Feet.

    Hi JL

If you still have the Debian image file you can replace the current one with it. Directions are in the link I'm showing below.

OR (I hope this is kosher!)

Here is how to make anything float as a screensaver!
You can glean what you need from it, hi hi

Last time I saw it, it was in the X-Screensaver package. I don't know if it is still there though.

Do you mean by installing this package I'll find it there?

    Hi JL

You can also change the other splash images as well.

The Log-in screen for example, that you get to through System/Administration/Login Window
I believe is stored in /usr/pixmaps/splash

and the screen just after log-in, your background image, is brought up using /apps/gnome-sessions/options/splash_image.
Just replace splash_image with the path to your image.

Also, you can find lots of them at gnome-look.org if my memory is correct.

I was used to seeing my company logo on all of my screens, so that was one of the first things I changed. That was like over 3 months ago now, before I started making notes as clear as I do now for referring back to. But I went back to the Hardy image after an upgrade or reinstall, since you only see it when nothing is open and I like Compiz-Fusion to harass friends with, hihi.........
