    multiple pythons, one Uno component

i must still be a noobie. i have been looking for a while now, and can't seem to find any instructions for getting a python uno component to work in anything other than the system python.

i am running 8.04, the system version is python2.5. my project is a zope/plone instance using buildout, which requires python2.4. getting openoffice to run as a service is easy enough, and also works with pyuno in the python2.5, but i can't seem to get it working for python2.4 (and thus my buildout project that uses python2.4).

any advice as to where to look, here or elsewhere? i've been to python, OO, debian, and all over the web, no dice. the closest issue i can find related to this here is a bibus issue, but those posts are 2 years old.
