Why do so many Arch users use these forums?

Ok -- I admit. I want to be an Arch convert. I just don't have the time right now -- well maybe I guess I could post to these forums less..

Why do so many Arch user's post to these forums? I know Arch has their own BB. Did many of the Arch users that currently post at one time use Ubuntu? I'm just trying to understand the logic? I know things on Arch are different, however does the information presented in these forums help you too (with some modications)?

Just trying to understand since I'm going to be in your shoes one day (hopefully)!

A ton of people started Linux with Ubuntu and progressed to Arch, but stayed active here. I think most like these forums for the busy conversations and enjoy helping others, but don't pursue support here.

Re: Why do so many Arch users use these forums?

I started posting here when I was an Ubuntu user and hadn't yet switched to Arch. These forums don't help me anymore, I get all the help I need from the Arch wiki and forums. I just stick around here because there's lots of active discussion. Basically, it's exactly what cardinals_fan said.

Oh, and when you DO make the switch, I hope you enjoy it . Just follow the beginner's guide and the install process should go smoothly.

What's the big attraction with Arch anyway? I've only read the Wikipedia article, which doesn't really paint a very rosy picture.

Slackware is obviously the final resting place. Quiet and stable
