Another nice aspect of Opensuse's package handling is delta-rpms.
They make downloads of updates much smaller, which is not trivial for lots of people.
Apparently Ubuntu does not use such a feature by default, not sure if Debian does.

before switching to opensuse I was on Ubuntu.
kde4.13 was a nightmare so I'm switching back to gnome.
I like it quite a bit though I probably do prefer ubuntus variation.
