    Virtual server tips needed

Hello all, I would like to create a virtual server on my laptop to emulate the server on my web-host. They are running:
    Apache 2.2.8
    MySql 4.1.22
    PHP 5.2.6
    Perl 5.8.8
Kernel vers. 2.6.9-89.0.19smp (Is that Red Hat Linux?)
My idea is to be able to experiment with PHP and MySQL using a mirror of my web-site so it will not matter if I break it.
If I managed to create something wonderful I will know that it will work when I upload it .

I am using VirtualBox already for VMs but I have never experimented with servers. Should I just install Ubuntu 11.04 server and install the software above or is there something else I should think about doing? I don't really want to learn about Red Hat if I can use Ubuntu instead.
My laptop has 2xTurion, 2GHZ, 4GB ram so it should run OK.
Thanks for any tips or links.

Yes, you can do that. But please keep in mind that Ubuntu's software versions will be different (for example MySQL 5 instead of 4), and that paths might differ.
