    Compositing Crashes After Wake

This has been a long time issue with KDE I believe.

Basically, if your computer goes to sleep, when you wake it up, the compositor crashes, and you have to restart Kubuntu.

There are all sorts of places on the internet that explain this issue, but like most issues, they are explained, and the threads that follow are filled with "Me too!"

But no one actually solves the problem, gives a solution, or even a work-around.

Does anyone here know how to resolve this?

    Re: Compositing Crashes After Wake

I have this issue on kubuntu 20.04 with a ryzen 7 2700u and Vega 10 gpun(Lenovo e585). It will wake from sleep but the screen doesn't turn on about half of the time. The only suggested workaround I found was disabling compositor, which I did and it did nothing to solve the problem.

Upgrading to kernel 5.6 solved the issue for me.
