I have some trouble getting an IP address out of my dhcp server.
I followed these instructions: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...4#post12428774
i am using ubuntu 12.04 server version
this is my /network/intefaces
Code:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
#facing the inter net
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.0.0.254
network 10.0.0.0
netmask 255.255.255.0
broadcast 10.0.0.255
gateway 10.0.0.2
#secondary network card facing lan
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.0.1
network netmask 255.255.255.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1
my /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf:
Code:
ddns-update-style none;
default-lease-time 600;
max-lease-time 7200;
authoriatative;
log-facility local7;
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;
option broadcast-address 192.168.1.255;
option routers 192.168.0.1;
option domain-name-servers 192.168.1.1;
option domain-name "ubuntu.internal";
subnet 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0{
range 192.168.0.11 192.168.0.100;
}
my /etc/default/isc-dhcp-server
my /etc/rc.local
Code:
/sbin/iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables --table nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
I am unsure what I need to do to get my dhcp server to give me IP addresses.
