    !Help!

    Hello All:

I am a new user to Ubuntu Server.

I can't seem to get it up and running. When I check wd it shows my home directory. But when I call up sudo ls it comes up private. And yes, I know my password.

Is there a GUI that I can somehow access to get my ball rolling?

    Thanks in advance

Working Directory, one would assume from context. (pwd = print working directory). When logged in normally, he sees "/home/whatever" but "sudo ls" does not apparently list the contents of his home directory...

"comes up private" is the more ambiguous part to me... Comes up "/home/private"? Comes up "/private/"? Doesn't show anything and reports that something is "private"?

Can you (Underrated_Orange, not lfaraone) copy and paste exactly what you see from a "sudo ls" into the forum?

Thanks for the replies. I decided to go a different route. I can't remember exactly what was displayed but the fix was to use su and a command. Thanks again.

    Happy Monday!
