    Question Skype cam not working

I'm on Ubuntu 12.10 x64, my laptop is Asus K52Jc . I have to start skype (version 4.0, installed from Ubuntu repos) with the command " LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype" to avoid the cam showing upside-down, everything seems working good. For example I go on Skype options->video and there the cam shows perfectly. But when I do a video call my cam doesn't even start and I'm also unable to see my friends cam. What's the problem?

Yes, my cam is a 04f2:b1e5 Chicony Electronics, not listed there... but I don't think it isn't compatible, indeed it works on options.
