Samsung Galaxy S2 help

Hi, I need a little help. I can't transfer files from my PC to my S2.
I open the folders, but see nothing. I tried all of the methods I got after googling it, but no luck.

Samsung Galaxy S2 running 4.2.1 jelly bean
Ubuntu 12.04

Pretty new to Ubuntu, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i have sgh-i9100 with cianogenMod 10.1 works just fine
I think you need to go to xda-developers forum
check if you phone is in USB-drive mode
go settings-memory-menu button-usb connection (4.2.2)
then reconnect device
if nothing, paste

sudo fdisk -l

Yeah, I saw this while googling. Mine has no USB mode

when you connect phone to pc, whan is on your phone screen ?

It says it's charging.

It also says it's being used as a USB Media Device.

i have only 4.2.2 and 2.3 android
and on both of them, after connection of usb cable, i must slide down top panel, choose "usb connected", then usb screen appears, on the bottom is big button "Connect as..."

I selected "Connect as MTP" but still, nothing.

It works in Windows.
