    Looking for the right distro

I'm looking for a linux distro that has the following:

    1. Be as light as possible. I won't be using it as my main OS, it's just for testing purposes.
    2. Can be loaded in Virtual Box without installing (Dream Studio allowed this).
    3. Have a UI and automaticaly plugs a USB drive. I had a bad experience mounting/unmounting drives in Ubuntu Server.
    4. Supports python 2/3.
    5. Allows me to write/test my programs.

If you know any that fits my purposes please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

The lightest I can think of of the top are puppy linux, crunchbang, or damn small linux.

Whether any of these support the python you'll need IDK.

    Hi prostudent.

If you want to go extra hardcore light with still with a GUI, try TinyCore (12Mb).

    Regards.

Re: Looking for the right distro

Personally, I like Puppy. Mainly because it has worked on every system I've thrown it on. Also because they offer different versions, one based on slackware, I believe, another based on ubuntu-lucid(though that might be dated knowledge)

I think the tiny, small distro market is far more competitive than the feature-full market.

Even the United States Department of Defense has a lightweight distro.
