Do you know if the changelog in :
    http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa...-02-27-raring/
    is dedicated to Ubuntu's 3.8.x or 3.9 ?
There are some e1000 and iwlwifi interesting changes.

    Re: 3.9 is here...

I wonder if 3.9 will make the feature freeze for 13.04 and be included in it? I think the feature freeze is thursday, isn't it? and since 3.9 is released, i would think that it would...
    Any thoughts?

It is 3.8 but daily, so it could have gotten some stuff from 3.9 pre-released... Not unheard of and known to happen earlier...
Update₁: First 3.9-daily (999) have just appeared and is complete and working... Writing from it...

looks like that yes, it was 3.9 preview, as these changes on e1000 are listed here :

My broadcoam chipset driver really hate kernel 3.9. Can't connect to wifi.

    Code:
    lspci | grep Network
05:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)

Nope, 3.9 is not released, there is only an early prerelease.
RR (13.04) will stay at 3.8 branch. We have now the 3.8.2 release in repos.

It would be usual, as that is simply a build of whatever is in the upstream git repo, warts and all.

During the merge window for the next kernel, that will include whatever changes were pulled in the previous day.

As happened this time that could mean build failures, until the build scripts/configs are updated for the new code/version. i.e. it was trying to build a half baked 3.9 using config/scripts meant for 3.8.
