    Web Browser on SteamOS?

Do you think there should be a web browser to search the web on SteamOS? I believe Xbox One has Internet Explorer, and I think PS4 has some web browser of its own, so should SteamOS follow suit?

Also, if you think a web browser should be on SteamOS, what web browser would you like to be default?

    Re: Search Engine on SteamOS?

I imagine that a Steam powered search engine would be called "Puffer" or maybe "Uphill Gradient"
Sorry but I grew up in the steam age. This thread might evolve into a game if you let it.

I would think that there would be a web browser. If not, someone would make a version of SteamOS with one and everybody would use that instead.

I would expect Google to be the default, but there'll probably be a few to choose from. Again, since it's open source, if someone doesn't like the options, they'll just fix it.

Internet Explorer is not a search engine....its a web browser.

I would kinda like it if they just used chrome because that seems to be the fastest on linux.

Oh definitely. I can't stand Firefox. Everytime I close out of it on my school's computers, it brings up a screen with the option to report a crash, and reopen the closed pages. Every time. It's so stupid, I prefer to use IE.

Internet Explorer used to always do that. In fact, that was one of the reasons I switched to Chrome years ago.

    Re: Web Browser on SteamOS?

Seeing as SteamOS is just going to be a modified GNU/Linux distro I am pretty sure it will have a browser, or the ability to install browsers (in fact, the steam client already has a built in browser so it might just use that one).
