Still having some doubts about jumping on UU wagon due to huge promises of phone/desktop unification...

Looks like a plug for ubuntu-myth.

    Code:
    Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu Utopic Unicorn (development branch)
    Release: 14.10
    Codename: utopic

    Quoting Mark Shuttleworth:

"Time to purge the ugsome and prune the unusable."

I wonder if this spells the death knell for CCSM.

One more coin, one more ride.

Everything went smoothly and with 3.15.0-031500rc2-generic kernel:

The PPA actually is for 14.04, but you can add it to 14.10 (manually) as well. There will be no PPA for Utopic as far as Martin told me, the systemd packages will be uploaded directly to Official (Utopic) repositories. We can expect that 14.10 will have (if everything roll normal) systemd by default.

I think is a bit early for keeping such promises (if you mean Unity 8...etc). From 15.04 or 15.10 we could speak more surely about mobile/phone/desktop convergence.

This day or so of living with systemd was nice... I do not have any need to go back... I've even learned some new tricks of keeping things tide and neat with systemd. Thank You for this opportunity. Still on 14.04 and waiting to see real direction 14.10 goes...
First thing I've learned about systemd is that there is no rc.local way of making things happen on startup but it can be done...
I'm always happy to learn new tricks even though I'm an old dog, very old... Keep it coming... Thank You for this opportunity, indeed.
Update₁: I've caught some spare time and SystemD works with (as mentioned above) kernel-3.15-999, and also with 3.13.0-24-lowlatency and liquorix-amd64-3.13-8...

The forum topic is going to be staying - we'll change it every 6 months.

The schedule is not there yet though
Yeah you were real close and I liked Unreal Unicorn but Utopic Unicorn sounds pretty cool too.

    Code:
    utopic

    Web definitions
A utopia is a community or society possessing highly desirable or perfect qualities.
The word was coined in Greek by Sir Thomas More for his 1516 book Utopia, describing a
fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean....
