    Question 10.4 overheating laptop

Has anyone noticed any overheating on laptops with 10.04? I usually kept my laptop running for a couple hours with 9.10 and it never got really hot, which it gets hot during windows 7 but now when I keep it running with 10.04 it seems to get really hot. Has anyone experienced this?

It may have something to do with which graphic driver you are using, computer specifications would be helpful.

You may want to enable the backports in your /etc/sources.list. There was a bug fix for that before the release but it was after the freeze.

I believe it has been included in an update somewhere and read somewhere that backports may be the source of the update.

Better check your fanspeed. Install lmsensors and follow the procedure here:

Report back on what it says, in case your computer is in danger of frying.

I didn't do that yet BUT I just turned off Akonadi and file indexing and left the laptop on for an hour or so and now its not hot at all. Maybe it was just those programs running? I'll try checking the fanspeed now just incase.
