    Xubuntu: writing in other language

I am only wondering how I can switch the language I write in from English to other languages, say Russian? (I.e. on Windows you go into regional and language settings, add Russian and press "alt+shift" and you switch languages).

    Welcome to the forums!

    Here's what you should do:
    1) Go to the Settings Manager/Keyboard/Layout tab and ensure that "Use system defaults" is set. Do not modify the rest.
    2) Install xfce4-goodies or just xfce4-xkb-plugin
    3) This will allow you to add a Keyboard Layouts plugin to your panel. Do so then right-click it and choose Properties.
    4) Set everything to your liking: layout, switch keys, etc.

    Cheers!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for a thousand times, LewisTM, you made my day!

Ever since I upgraded my system to 12.04 I had troubles with the keyboard layouts. Now I am happy!

    Regards,
    Christian.

    Thank you!
It's simple, but not obvious way.
