All Google Apps not working or functioning minimially (Ubuntu 12.04)

I am running Ubuntu 12.04.
I am using Firefox, but have tried other browsers.
I am updated and installed both Adobe and Java plug-ins.
Ubuntu is up to date as of 15 min ago.

But, I cannot get any Google app to work correctly:
Gmail will not open
Drive will only open the interface but not the documents
Search will bug out at times
Calendar will not open
Youtube is the only one I have not seen any problems with

A year ago I ran Ubuntu 10 and could use the apps fine (of course Google has changed everything since then)

Of every website I use, I am only finding issues with Google and Google apps.
ANY ADVICE?

I think Google is busy moving away from their old Desktop application bundle and toward doing everything through Chrome.

Interesting, YouTube is the only website I have a problem with, as in their flash player switches red and blue. Though I am using Chrome. Try using Chrome or disabling extensions in Firefox if you installed any.

P.S. I think rai4shu2 meant they are focusing on ChromeOS and Chrome support.

I don't use Calendar but GMail and GDrive work perfectly for me, as does YouTube.

You never even heard of it? I tried it out for a while. It never really clicked for me.

I tried another website wix.com and after the login screen I got this response which when I have seen it before I ended up changing the DNS settings, though I have already changed the DNS settings.

I have a screen shot from the same website in Firefox but this seems to have a more descriptive error.

I changed my DNS settings to the specifications Opendns provides.

The issue seems to be when I attempt to login to an account (like wix or gmail) or run a web based program like opening a Google doc.

You need to specify a comma separated list: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220, 192.168.0.1
Replace the last one with your local DNS which is usually your router as a fallback so you can still resolve local addreses and incase OpenDNS fails to resolve something.

I'm having the same problem here with ubuntu 11.10 (with the latest updates).
Everything that required authentication is not working (especially gmail, gdocs..).
Is anybody experiencing the same issues?

I am experiencing the same problem connecting with Gmail, and it appears to be common with all "buntu" variants and only the buntus. I have no problems with any of the distros not based on Ubuntu or on windows. I'd love to run Ubuntu as my primary OS, but this is a deal breaker. I'd consider myself an intermediate Linux user and have tried everything I've seen posted to resolve this issue to no avail.
Although Firefox is my browser of choice, switching browsers has not improved the situation. Does anyone have a good fix for this?
Is this a known issue with Ubuntu?
