I think Windows 8 is very good, but I prefer Ubuntu.

I don't think Windows 8 will drive anyone away, and I also think the tight phone-tablet-PC integration could help them find traction in non-PC markets...

What makes Windows 8 hard to work with is the new way of Partitioning that really makes things difficult. Just my opinion-

The UEFI System Partition that's on the drive and all the hoops one has to jump thru just to install any Linux distro alongside of it it will be interesting to say the least-

Agreed. BIOS lasted 30 freaking years. It's not supposed to last that long, but it did. UEFI is superior to BIOS in everyway possible.

I also think this. The problem is that most of the people don't know about free alternatives, so I think that, if some of them keep unknowing about Linux, they'll switch to Mac... But Windows 8 is good for FOSS, I'm sure the number of users will increment

I sure hope you in the pro UEFI side being forced to use windows 8 and its ****** not for a desktop interface.
