... where my mailbox receives many "happy birthday" notices from forums i'm registered on. On one hand I find these utterly automatic wishes pathetic. On the other hand it reminds me where I have userids, and maybe it's a way for the admins to check if a user's e-mail is still valid.

It is 9am new years day here and when I booted up I had a small desktop notice (not notify-send) with a string of balloons saying happy new year.
Only lasted a few seconds. No idea where it came from???
