It used to be that my login screen was my background image, now when I have to login, for some reason it has reverted back to the traditional Ubuntu background. How can I get it back to what it used to be?

Thanks, but this isn't exactly my problem. All the permissions are straight for all of my used wallpapers. And the login was always my user background. That was one of the cool features I liked about it when I saw 12.04 in its alpha stages.
I am also using a program called wallch that occasionally changes my wallpaper. My logic screen would automatically be whatever image was left there last when i logged off. It is no longer like that. I can't recall any significant changes in any software beside me trying out the webapps ppa, and even then it was still working the way it was before. The only thing I can think is that ubuntu had an update that changed this setting, for one reason or another.
Hi ,
try to create a new user and see if this function of lightdm works . If yes , then is something wrong with your settings.
If no , then maybe its this you said

Hi ,
yes , I suppose you have a picture that is not supported by lightdm. Try to find and remove this picture. Pictures must be .png for better support. Jpeg supported also , but sometimes causes problems like yours.
Another thing might be the size. Take care so the size and format of pictures be the same. You can do that easy with GIMP.
Thanks
