I want to know more about the Linux kernel. Can i get some names of books which can help me understand it. I know C programming.
Also it would be kind to tell some good books / tutorials for bash programming.
If possible tell the pros and cons of each book u prescribe for Linux.
    thanks

    hi
for me is the bible to start with OS is:
    Operating Systems Design and Implementation
Prentice-Hall International Editions from Andrew S. Tanenbaum
    ISBN 0-13-637331-3 025

but check the ISBN - my book is from 1987 (i started with unix 1982).
if it is unix or linux - in my opinion that doesen't matter - it's the philosophie of the systems.
but i tell you: unix/linux and the shell is a never ending story.
    have fun

thanks for the help. but i've heard that this book is for general OS and not specific to anything, i have an OS course this semester and hope to learn some basics of OS there. Linux and windows may be discussed but not in details, that's why i wanted to study them myself.
