Hello ubunturians,
I'm experiencing bigger issues on booting ubuntu natty lately.
Let me explain:
I reinstalled Ubuntu Natty because I pretty screwed my last installation.
The installation did well everything works I added the fixes and
workarounds for Ubuntu on an Acer Aspire Timeline X 3820 TG which
includes the the Graphics switched off. (On boot described
here, added echo OFF > ... to rc.local)
But now my System crashes nearly 2 times in 3 boots with a blackscreen.
I can switch the TTYs but I am not to login and find out whats going on
as well as do something about it.
TTY 7 shows me a Stacktrace for Kernel-Module radeon.
So I guess this vgaswitcheroo thing messes this up.
If it boots correctly anything works, but if I reboot
there is a chance that I have to reboot several times
before it ends up with a gdm screen.
I try to grab the stack trace and attach it to this post.
EDIT : No way to grab this thing need to set up kdump or something like that...
On my previous installation sometimes booting fails
(Same Blackscreen with stacktrace) too, but not that often.
Is there a anything I missed or a fix which removes this issue once and for all?
EDIT:
I reverted my rc.local to default and my system keeps crashing after all.
Odd in this situation is the installation works fine first boots too.
Only thing I added so far was the psmouse.conf and the
Linux "acpi_os=Linux" Kernel parameter.
Even if I revert everything to default the system keeps crashing ...
