Installed ubuntu, now cannot read audio cds

I have installed the ubuntu from the site as an application and choose as a boot.


after doing so, now, when i am in windows 7, (64bit machine), when i place an audio cd in the e:drive, it will not autoplay or play when i click on the drive.

just says they are CDFS Audio.


nothing happens when you click on them.

so at this point, i cannot play any cds on the pc or rip anything.

to make sure it was not the drive itself, i placed the win7 disk in and rebooted the device. it reads the disk fine to try and fix/reformat/reinstall win7. (windows media player 12)

Which version of ubuntu did you install, and which version of windows are you using?

Windows7 home premium 64 bit. the newestubuntu DOS from this door that installs as an application that can dual boot.

Start by opening up your preferred audio player and see whether it asks you if you want to make it the default application for playing audio files. It seems that somehow the file type association has been lost.

Since the drive is still working fine, that seems the most likely explanation.

u can also right click n choose open with then select your favorable media player

no, doesn't ask to be default. i did make sure of the sings in defaults and autorun.
