Promote GNU-Linux / Ubuntu in your e-mails - Ubuntu signature

If you want to do something to promote GNU-Linux / Ubuntu, you can add the following images (with or without link to an ubuntu webpage) to your e-mail signature:

    --

    or

    --

Just copy and paste the code below and add it to your signature, if it accepts html code, and try it.

    English:
    Code:
    --
    <a href="http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/904features/"><img src="http://img233.yfrog.com/img233/7348/ubuntulogoformailen2.png" width="500" height="50"></a>
    Spanish:
    Code:
    --
    <a href="http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/904features/"><img src="http://img145.yfrog.com/img145/7672/ubuntulogoformailes2.png" width="500" height="50"></a>
    You could also say:
"This mail has been sent without using privative software"
or build a similar thing for yourself:
    - another image
    - another text
    - another language
    - link to somewhere else.

JUST DO IT AND USE IT!

    Edit for GMAIL:

I had no problem inserting this html code in three different web mail sites. But, it is true, as of today, html code doesn't work in GMAIL's signatures. So this is what I did:

    0. Build or download the image you want to use.

    1. Go to Settings >Labs and enable:
    “Canned Responses” feature
    “Inserting Images” feature

    2. Compose a new message

    3. Click Canned Responses > New Canned Response
(call it “Signature-1” or whatever you like)

    4. Edit your signature right there in the mail composer:

    · insert the image in your hard disk by uploading it
    · Select the image, press the link button and write the address (URL) you want it to point to.
(the problem with this is that you will have a rectangle around the image which you wiill not be able to get rid of)
    · Add whatever else you want

    5. Click Canned Responses > Save > [ ...and choose the signature name you gave it]

    6. Get out the composing editor by clicking "compose" to compose a new test message that you will send to you.

Now you can quickly add your signature to any new e-mail or reply by clicking:
Canned Responses > Insert > [...Signature Name] (it will insert it right in the cursor's position)

Ideal! It even allows you to have as many signatures as you like.

    Would be better.

By the way, why did you link to a site in English?

Why? It's 1) Longer and 2) Not as fluid because it uses two sentences.

"Este correo fue enviado a utilizar software libre" is more compact.
Posting code? Use the [code] or [php] tags.
I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.

That's too broad, and "correo" by itself means mail. Correo electrónico is e-mail.

Out of all of them, this would work the best:

"Este correo electrónico mandó utilizando Ubuntu."

It's short, to the point, and actually makes sense.

    Your's means:

"This mail was dispatched to utilize free software"

Which, to be honest, sounds like you're spamming e-mails to promote Free Software.

It's being sent in an email. I think they'll probably figure it out.

"Este correo electrónico mandó utilizando Ubuntu."
Actually, that's incorrect. It would either be "mandado" or "fue mandado". "Sent using Ubuntu" or "was sent using ubuntu". That says that the mail itself was the one sending.

You appear to either be using a translator (other than google translate) or are interpreting it wholly literally. It's idiomatically correct. "This mail was sent using free software."

    How about this?

"Mandé este correo electrónico usando Ubuntu"

That would be: "I sent this e-mail using Ubuntu", right?

I wasn't actually using a translator. I guess I need to work on my Spanish idioms.
