I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with Firefox 11.0. I downloaded Firefox 19.0 tar.gz which after untaring has a bunch of files, but nothing to explain how to install it. Anyone know how? Thanks.

Hi:
Generally when you untar there should be a 'Read Me' or a 'Install" file to help you-
These are good instructions. Try this:

Download for linux is on the left and if you start over put it in you Downloads directory and than cd-
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/
Hope this helps

The Firefox you download from Mozilla's website is a precompiled package. Extract it and run the sh file inside.
Then again, if you're using a supported version of Ubuntu, then you'll be given the latest version automatically. You really should upgrade, since 10.10 is unsupported and can cause problems.
