rtl8190 WiFi N PCI Card Driver

Seeing the frustration many seem to experience with WiFi drivers (including myself), I thought it important to post the results of my effort. I tried all of the publicly available drivers I could find. Nothing worked. A simple email to Realtek support via their website fixed the problem. I sent the Version, kernel, and card information. They promptly replied with the latest driver, which installed and worked flawlessly.

    Thanks Realtek.

    Configuration:
Wireless N PCIe 8190 Card from Realtek
Ubuntu 10.04 on a big ole Dell Desktop

    Cheers,
    Karl

    Hey barnaclekarl,

Question, are you using the 64 bit version of Lucid and how did you install the driver. I have the same wifi card and also got the driver from Realtek support and have not been able to compile it or install it for that matter.

I'm running Lucid 64 with the newest kernal.

    Any suggestions?
