Firefox is set to default. I even tried setting Chrome as default but there was no change.

    Appreciate any help

found this, so it appears to be a problem without a fix?

it appears it can be installed, have you checked and maybe it is installed and then you can remove that browser?

Did you check your default settings through the Konqueror interface? I have done it this way and it works for me. Open Konqueror and click on the SETTINGS tab and then on CONFIGURE KONQUEROR and finally, on FILE ASSOCIATIONS. While you are there, click on TEXT and then HTML. You can remove "Winebrowser" from the list and move your preferred browser to the top...

    hope this helps!

BTW, I have been using Kmail for quite a while now with no issues whatsoever... it has proven to be very stable and I enjoy using it.

I've also been running Kmail in Ubuntu with this as the only hiccup. Thanks for solving my problem.
