intellinet ralink problems

I have installed Xubuntu on my Dell Dimension 2400 and am trying to get back my Wifi capabilities.
He uses an intellinet RaLink 802.11g mini usb wireless adapter
The computer won't recognize that there is any wireless device, and I am at a loss as to what to do. if anyone would be able to help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I've tried using the CD it came with in 2005 to install drivers, but it is meant for windows (of course) and I don't know how to get what I want out of it on xubuntu.
