    Kopete closing itself?

I'm new to Kubuntu (but not 'buntus in general). 10.04 is my first installation of a KDE product since the late 90's. This is a clean install but using a shared Home folder from my previous Ubuntu 9.04 installation.

So far, mostly so good, as I get used to getting around in KDE and dealing with the few Lucid things. However, I've noted that when I leave Kopete IM open, I'll come back (usually hours later) to find it no longer open.

What's odd is if there is a message window left open, the icon in the tray disappears but the message is still there, and clicking in the tray brings the icon back. (I have the Kopete icon set to always show, and even extending the tray doesn't show the icon)

If there is no message window open, Kopete goes away entirely and can't even be found in the process list in System Manager.

Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks!

I would delete or rename the .kopete config folder.

I'll give it a try - I'll just delete it and see if that helps.

This is the first time I ever used Kopete so I didn't think of clearing the config folder, but it's definitely worth a shot.
