    Gnome-Shell Help?

    Hey, I'm new to Ubuntu but I'm pretty computer savvy, I installed Ubuntu fine with out any problems and I found this cool program, I guess it would be called, on the web called Gnome shell. I did as it said to install it threw terminal
    $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

    This didn't work all to well because when I tried to use Gnome-Shell with
    "gnome-shell --replace"
    I get this error "(mutter:3393): mutter-WARNING **: Could not load library [/usr/lib/mutter/plugins/libgnome-shell.so (/usr/lib/libgjs-gi.so.0: undefined symbol: g_type_info_get_array_type)]"
    I have absolutly no clue what is going on and any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks for your time,
    Eximius

    I checked back a few minuetes later and in terminal it said this added to the orginal message "Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x1e0002f (Contact Li)
    Window manager warning: meta_window_activate called by a pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed."

    Re: Gnome-Shell Help?

    Why are you using a PPA version? Gnome-shell is in 10.04 repository - I would try that first.

    Re: Gnome-Shell Help?

    Well you've added a repository, there was no need to as there is a version in 10.04 - the only step needed was sudo apt-get install gnome-shell.
