    Well yeah, you're looking for something that doesn't exist; there are no Linux viruses that can actually get onto your system.
    I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

    Go to http://www.virustotal.com and upload the files. The site analyzes the files by running it through various scanners and report results.

    Edit: Just as how dcstar did, I too put /usr/lib/erlang through clamscan version 0.95.3 and found nothing.
