My laptop freezes when I switch from AC to battery

My Toshiba A205 freezes when I switch the power from AC to battery on Lucid and Karmic.
I've tried to run live Knoppix with kernel 2.6.32-17 but it doesn't work. I did the same with live Hardy 2.6.24 and it works perfect.
Can somebody help me to solve the problem!

Hi!
When you said that you tried to run Knoppix, what didn't work, Knoppix or the switch from AC to battery?

Knoppix had loaded and freezed.
Sometimes Karmic and Lucid did the same, sometimes freezes just before logging into my account.
It also happens when I pull up the AC cable from the laptop to turn it on battery. It freezes 3 to 5 seconds after I unplug the cable.
